BREAKING. TopTV's Star! channel gets a Silver! lining. TopTV doesn't notice its Star! channel is gone and showing the Silver! channel feed.

You're reading it here first.

TopTV viewers are outraged and angry since the movie channel Silver! (TopTV 112) has now been shown for hours (and still is shown!) on the channel usually reserved for the entertainment news channel Star! (TopTV 179) - without TopTV's final control centre either noticing, or in a position to do anything about it.

Viewers immediately notified me hours ago when suddenly the channel feed of the two channels initially switched, and Star! was available on TopTV's channel 112 and Silver on TopTV's channel 179. Then, after a while, Silver! regained it's normal channel number spot, but became simulcast on Star! as well - which is still the case and has been for the bigger part of the today. Both channels are showing Silver! Viewers have not been told by TopTV what is going on through other media or though an on-air channel scroll.

Both Star! and Silver! are actually provided to TopTV by the same company, the Scandinavian television broadcaster NonStop Television that's part of the Turner Broadcasting System.

UPDATE Monday 31 January 09:00 - Star! is once again being broadcast on TopTV's channel 179, with Silver! on only channel 112.
